BALAAM AND JEZEBEL WENT TO CHURCH! THE UNHOLY ALLIANCE

BALAAM  & JEZEBEL WENT TO CHURCH!

The Unholy Alliance!

There are two spirits that love to affect local churches and wear people like puppets in order to create confusion and dissension. They are an unholy alliance and turn up especially in newly established works and/or whenever there is a great move of God. They cause confusion, division and dissension and it’s time for us to recognize their work for what it is: insidious and destructive to the fabric of unity in the Body of Christ. It is a slanderous spirit and lays allegations and accusations against God’s elect: those whom God has anointed and ordained to lead in a local assembly or the Body of Christ at large. Like anything else, we must measure a tree by its fruit. When we hear such allegations against the people of God or witness things that question authority and our leaders’ motives what should we do? Friend, we must look for the spiritual fruit that tree produces. Signs, wonders and miracles are not fruit. They are viable ways to measure the anointing on someone’s’ life but by themselves are not enough. Satan himself transforms himself as an angel of light and works lying signs and wonders (Matt. 24: 24). We must take the litmus test of love from the word of God and measure people by that. 1 Corinthians 13 gives us the way of love and Galatians 5 gives us the measuring tools for the fruit of the Spirit. That is how you know a tree-by its fruit i.e., its nature and character. My grandmother always kept fresh fruit in the house. One day I went into the dining room, picked up a pear out of a bowl set on the center of the table, and bit into it only to find out it was made of wax! It was fake fruit even though it was sitting on the middle of the dining room table and looked fresh. That taught me to ‘sniff’ before I bit!

Having said this take the ‘sniff’ test before you bite into the fruit. Look for the manifest fruit of the Spirit which is the “nature” and heart of Christ. Likewise, would you automatically label all men who prophesy, work miracles and/ or lead a group a Balaam? Would you automatically label all women who prophesy and /or lead a Jezebel? Spiritually strong women are not automatically Jezebels any more than all powerful Men of God are Balaams. By the way, men can operate in a Jezebel spirit too. They usually take on feminine traits and are sexually impure.

Ruth, Deborah, Anna, Esther, Huldah, Naomi and Mary (to name a few) were all very strong women of God...would you call them Jezebels? Some of these women were notable leaders. The New Testament is laced with women who followed Christ, assisted Paul in starting churches, were in leadership positions as deaconess' and elders. Did they entice the people of God to err and follow after strange flesh? Did they try to shut the mouth of God's prophets by using works of the flesh and witchcraft to entice men to follow their pernicious ways rather than the prophetic voice of God through ordained leadership-Elijah (God's ordained authority)? Did they usurp authority over their husbands and lead insurrections against God's ordained leadership? Quite the contrary.

Insecure or unlearned people tend to automatically label strong women as Jezebel but Ahab (an insecure leader) was under the influence of Jezebel himself. He was covetous about having a position of leadership and wanted prominence but had no character.  He was weak willed and compromising in his obedience to the commands of Jehovah. The Balaam spirit is just as bad. This spirit especially attaches to men who have great charisma and prophetic gifts but who have unresolved character flaws in the inner man... (Jude 1). They have given way to greediness and ‘power’ have gone to their heads. These both are manifestations of demonic strongholds that appear through uncircumcised flesh and character flaws that go undetected sometimes for years. In some cases people start out ‘right’ but the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and pride of life gets the best of them (1 John 2: 16). It’s the Lucifer “sin-drome” as my pastor puts it. Wanting more than what God portioned to him. After all, Lucifer caused the first Kingdom split!

These spirits undermine the voice of God not only prophetically, but seek to undermine the voice of all those in authority. Balaam/ Jezebel cause the people of God to err and go after other gods (spiritual idolatry and adultery) through a spirit of rebellion. It wants power and position and will connive its way through the ranks to get it not caring who it slanders or hurts. Its number one agenda is to lead the sheep of God into destruction through distraction and the lust of the eyes, flesh and pride of life. Those being influence by these spirits have no godly fear of authority. In fact, they despise authority. Look for people who have unresolved daddy or mommy issues too. This spirit loves to attack vessels who don’t get totally free of misuse and abuse from parental figures in their lives. It will continue to manifest in how they interact and react to authority emplaced by God; whether it is civil or spiritual authority. Likewise, this spirit attaches itself to those who have impure motives and want position rather than display true submission and compassion. This spirit is very easily offended and will retaliate against those who don't do or see things their way. It will puff itself up at the expense of others reputation. It is mean spirited and will manifest it behind a smile when your back is turned. It cares more about recognition and position than submission to authority and divine order.  It can be male or female. It will use flattery (Jude 1: 4) to lure others into their heart but once it gains your confidence will turn on you. It is a spirit of usury (it will use you for what it can get out of you then dispose of you once they’ve used you for their selfish gain).

If you study out the New Testament you will see leaders who were male and female. In Christ Jesus there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female bond or free (Galatians 3: 28). He has made us all one new man. Adam and Eve were created to co-reign. In the home Adam (the man) was created first; then the woman (1 Tim. 2: 13). Therefore, in God’s divine order, the husband is the authority of the home not the woman. He literally wears the pants but not in the sense of being overbearing and abusive. Because of Satan's deception God has placed the husband over the wife for protection and covering. Women need to be under God ordained authority in the home and in the church. However, this does not preclude them from leading a group of people and ministering under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. Deborah (Judges 4) was mightily used of God to assist Barak in defeating an entire army and used another woman in the same scenario named Jael to drive a tent peg through the temple of Sisera (a leader of their troop). God is not afraid of strong women. God is not afraid to anoint men either even though some of His male leaders today have compromised 'grace' and 'charisma' and have led thousands if not millions down the path of perdition. It’s a heart issue; not one of gender. The gifts and calling of God are without repentance. It is up to each one of use to steward what He gives us through submission, obedience and humility. God has great faith to entrust His Kingdom to ‘earthen vessels’! “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” 2 Cor 4: 7

Revelation 2 Amplified Bible AMP) TO THE "CHURCH" AT EPHESUS. Vs. 14 Nevertheless, I have a few things against you: you have some people there who are clinging to the teaching of Balaam, who taught Balak to set a trap and a stumbling block before the sons of Israel, to entice them to eat food that had been sacrificed to idols and to practice lewdness giving themselves up to sexual vice. 16 Repent then! Or else I will come to you quickly and fight against them with the sword of my mouth. 20 But I have this against you: that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess claiming to be inspired, and who is teaching and leading astray my servants and beguiling them into practicing sexual vice and eating food sacrificed to idols.21 I gave her time to repent, but she has no desire to repent of her immorality symbolic of idolatry and refuses to do so. 22 Take note: I will throw her on a bed of anguish, and those who commit adultery with her paramours I will bring down to pressing distress and severe affliction, unless they turn away their minds from conduct such as hers and repent of their doings.

Jude 1: 4 For certain men have crept in stealthily gaining entrance secretly by a side door.  Their doom was predicted long ago, ungodly impious, profane persons who pervert the grace the spiritual blessing and favor of our God into lawlessness and wantonness and immorality, and disown and deny our sole Master and Lord, Jesus Christ the Messiah, the Anointed One.  Nevertheless in like manner, these dreamers also corrupt the body, scorn and reject authority and government, and revile and libel and scoff at heavenly glories the glorious ones. 10 But these men revile scoff and sneer at anything they do not happen to be acquainted with and do not understand; and whatever they do understand physically that which they know by mere instinct, like irrational beasts—by these they corrupt themselves and are destroyed perish. 11 Woe to them! For they have run riotously in the way of Cain, and have abandoned themselves for the sake of gain it offers them, following the error of Balaam, and have perished in rebellion like that of Korah! 12 These are hidden reefs elements of danger in your love feasts, where they boldly feast sumptuously carousing together in your midst, without scruples providing for themselves alone. They are clouds without water, swept along by the winds; trees, without fruit at the late autumn gathering time—twice doubly dead, lifeless and plucked up by the roots; 13 Wild waves of the sea, flinging up the foam of their own shame and disgrace; wandering stars, for whom the gloom of eternal darkness has been reserved forever. These are inveterate murmurers grumblers who complain of their lot in life, going after their own desires controlled by their passions; their talk is boastful and arrogant, and they claim to admire men’s persons and pay people flattering compliments to gain advantage. 17 But you must remember, beloved, the predictions which were made by the apostles the special messengers of our Lord Jesus Christ the Messiah, the Anointed One. 18 They told you beforehand, in the last days in the end time there will be scoffers who seek to gratify their own unholy desires, following after their own ungodly passions. 19 It is these who are agitators setting up distinctions and causing divisions—merely sensual creatures, carnal, worldly-minded people, devoid of the Holy Spirit and destitute of any higher spiritual life.
