The Longest Distance!
What is the Longest Distance between Two Points?

The longest distance between Heaven and Earth is the distance between your head and your heart. What you think you know about God and what He really thinks about you makes all the difference in the world. How we see Him is how we'll serve Him or not. How we behold Him is what we will become or not. The serpent lied to Eve and told her the reason why God didn’t want her to eat of the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and evil was that God ‘knew’ when they did they would become like Him. What a lie. God created man in His image. They were already like Him! He created them to be His Son and Daughter who would produce more sons and daughters. They were His family! The serpent appealed to her intellect and in doing short wired her thinking into doubting her relationship basis with the Father. He craftily replaced mental doubts with God’s love for her and hers for Him!
God is LOVE. He is a GOOD GOOD Father who isn't mad at you and doesn't necessarily care about what you are currently 'doing' or not. He cares about YOU and asks the same question after both Adam and Eve ate of the wrong fruit. He asked..."Where Are YOU?" He is slow to anger, forgiving, patient and kind. He is always ready and willing to forgive you of your sins passed on to all mankind by Adam if you will desire to be in a relationship Him through His Son Jesus. However, this means you will have to turn away from YOUR way of doings things and approaching Him or not!
Our way and our self-will is what He calls eating from The Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil. The Father’s way is called eating from the Tree of Life! Religion offers us the fruit of "head knowledge": good and evil. Religion attempt to define what is ‘good’ and what is ‘bad’. The devil tempts us to believe, pick, choose then eat what seems right and good to us. We are living in a day where men call good evil and evil good. How far mankind has fallen from the place of relationship with God! The remedy has always been the same principle: eat what the Father has provided for us...His Tree of Life. This tree was transformed into a wooden Cross on Mount Calvary where His only Son bled and died. What was the purpose of this Tree? Give us the opportunity to spiritually eat of His flesh and drink of His blood and receive eternal life-the life that Satan cleverly but illegally stole from Adam and Eve.
"Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day." John 6: 54
We can only be reconciled (reconnected) with the God the Father through Jesus. Our sin has separated us from Him. Jesus said, “No man comes to the Father except through me.” The disciples asked Jesus once, “Show us the Father then.” Jesus said, “Have I been with you so long and you still don’t know that when you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father?”
The first step in this long distance journey from your head to your heart; heaven to earth is to repent of your sins. Repent (change your mind) about your own 'religion' including your own good works. Change your mind about your own world view and eternity then receive Christ's supreme sacrifice as the necessary work you need. His work is what gives us Eternal Life—nothing else! He finished all of the work God the Father sent Him to this earth to do on the Cross! Jesus drank a bitter cup in the Garden and finally on the Cross to fulfill God's redemption plan for you and for e! The fruit Adam and Even ate in the Garden of Eden only produced death: bitterness and pain. It resulted in them and mankind having an unquenchable thirst for fulfillment that could never be satisfied apart from The Father!
This is what Jesus prayed in the Garden:
“And going a little farther he fell on his face and prayed, saying, “My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.” Matthew 26: 39
This is what Jesus accomplished on the Cross and Jesus’ last words to the Father!
"Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit." John 19: 28-30
The devil is still busy in and out of church lying to God's people and convincing them that what they need is more worldly understanding and knowledge. The Father wants us to understand experience more revelation of Jesus and what He did for us on the Cross. When we embrace and eat of that fruit, while rejecting the other, we can have true relationship with the Father!
JESUS loves YOU! Will you take HIM as your Lord and Savior instead of your head knowledge?
