Here Comes the Bride!

Here Comes the Bride!
Mary Ann Wray

The young man asked his one and only love one day, "Will you marry me? You know I love only you!"

The young woman enthusiastically replied, "Yes, I will! You are my only true lover forever!"

The bridegroom said with a warm loving smile, "Your 'yes' takes my breath away. You are so beautiful to me! I look forward to our Wedding Day, sweetheart; but there is so much we need to do and prepare before our Big Day, you know?"

"Yes, love!" the bride to be exclaims. "I'm so excited! I'm officially engaged now! I can't believe it and I can't wait to tell all my friends and family. I understand what you mean! There is so much to do before then!" she says. I’m going to start planning right away!"

The bridegroom nods his head in agreement with a warm loving smile and embrace, then replies, "Well then, will you wait and be true to me while I'm gone? You see, I have to leave for a while in order to get things ready on my end. I won't see you, probably until our wedding day! Can you wait for me that long?"

The bride-to-be says in a concerned tone, "Why would you ask such a question? You know I will! I love you and you only!  No one and nothing else could ever take your place in my heart."

The Bridegroom answers, "You are so beautiful to me and so worth the wait. I'll be back before you know it! In the meantime, I have a twin brother named, Ruach, who is very close to me. You haven’t met Him yet. He will help you get ready. You'll meet Him in a special room on the top floor of a friend's house that I've reserved just for you and the rest of my family to discuss all of the wedding plans. Go up there ten days after I leave and you'll meet Him yourself. You won't be disappointed. He knows exactly what you need to do and will help you with all of the preparations."
"I will do exactly as you say, my love!" she said. "I look forward to meeting your twin brother. In the meantime I will be anxiously watching and waiting for you every day that you're gone!"

Will the Lord's "Bride to be" remain faithful to Him until he returns for her? Can she remain true to Him in the midst of an adulterous, rebellious, and wicked generation? Will she accept His helper in all of the preparation beforehand and do what He says to stay pure for Him?
Or will the cares of this world, the lust of the eyes and the flesh, along with the pride of life pollute her, cause her to become careless and pull her away from her first love? Will she be awake and alert when He comes to get her for their Great Wedding Day Celebration?

“Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” Ephesians 5: 25b-27

"At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish and five were wise. The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them. The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps. The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.“At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’ “Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’  ‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’ But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. “Later the others also came. ‘Lord, Lord,’ they said, ‘open the door for us!’ “But he replied, ‘Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’ “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour." Matthew 25: 1-13

"Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” Revelations 19: 6-8
