Filet of Soul
Filet of Soul

Ps Mary Ann Wray
The Lord gave me this word this morning...I hope it helps
someone out there...
Hebrews 4: 12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful,
and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of
soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not
manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him
with whom we have to do.
The word of God separates (merismos) soul from spirit. Only
the Holy Spirit can divide the soul (unredeemed mind, will and emotions) from
spirit (our completed spirit man) and reveal the deepest intentions of our
heart verses His perfect will and thoughts!
This is the chastening process of the Lord to His sons and
daughters (Hebrews 12: 4-17).
Merismos is the continual process of separating soulishness
(intellect, reasoning, emotionalism, self-will) from truly walking in the
spirit (true power and freedom in Christ). Those who are called the sons of God
are led by the spirit of God-not their souls!
Sometimes we go through tribulations in order to bring us to
the place of submission to this process of separation. Especially if we get too
"High and Mighty' in our own estimation. God uses our tribulation to get
our attention!
DEFINITIONS:
Piercing = diïkneomai to go through, penetrate, pierce
Merismos=a division, partition, distribution (of various
kinds)
a separation so far as to cleave asunder or separate
Here is the Amplified version of the same verse...
For the word of God is living and active and full of power
[making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any
two-edged [b]sword, penetrating as far as the division of the [c]soul and
spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the
deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and
intentions of the heart. 13 And not a creature exists that is concealed from
His sight, but all things are open and exposed, and revealed to the eyes of Him
with whom we have to give account. Hebrews 4: 12-13
